The day before to my trip to Vietnam and Cambodia I downloaded several different fandoms fics to my kindle. I had the intention to just download the longest fics from the two fandoms I was reading at the moment (X-Men: First Class and Inception), but just decided to download some Criminal Minds as well. And then something caught my attentions: Star Trek. 
AO3 has a large supply of Star Trek fics of all the series and universes.
So why not I asked myself. Just the largest or with more hits in case I read all the other fics.

There was one that it picked my curiosity (So Wise We Grow by Deastar) and for some reason, once I was at the airport waiting to my flight to Warsaw (where I was to meet with aviss and Mb), I decided to start reading it instead of all the other fics.

At this point I have to say that I was in no way a foreign to ST fandom and universe. I'd watched TOS and TNG as a kid in the Catalan TV, I later watched some episodes of Voyager on the local TV. And after the reboot movie (which I loved it) I got into the fandom for a little while, reading some K/S fics and some gen fics. But I let it go quite easily, as I belive I was, at the time immersed, in other fandoms.

The thing is, I finished So Wise We Grow in my second day in Vietnam and instead of going for another fandom I decided to go on reading all I had downloaded of Star Trek. And when I run out of ST fics, I went to AO3 and downloaded a few more, and at the return flights I decided to close the circle reading the fic that made me began my travel no just around the Great Mekong.

A here we are now... feeling like maybe I've found a new home, a fandom large and resilient enough as once upon a time it was for me the Harry Potter fandom. I bought The Original Series' DVD, I'm getting my hand in The Next Generation, and I'm reading. I'm reading like I have not read in a very long time. And oh my! There are fics and FICS, and I'll talk about this capital thing another day but let's just say that I might have already found my cup of tea in this fandom.

No es que yo sea muy activa en este fandom, pero siempre he sido bastante trekkie, así que permíteme que te dé la bienvenida ^^ Yo te recomiendo Deep Space Nine, es mi favorita.

Yo he visto las series (no todas...) y me he tragado las pelis, y de hecho cuando salió la última peli me apunté a varias comunidades y leí bastante pero me desenganché rápido porque creo que estaba con Criminal Minds super metida.
Pero chica, parece que me ha dado fuerte! Y me he encontrado algunas de mis autoras favoritas por aquí metidas y me he cruzado con el tipo de fic que me pierde (y al que ya he viciado a aviss), y ahora a ver si me dura. Hecho de menos tener un fandom fijo T:T

Secundo a Helena, ¡bienvenida! genial tener otra persona abordo. Yo también soy trekkie de nacimiento casi y desde hace dos años que me vengo leyendo absolutamente todo lo K/S que cae en mis manos.


Lo absolutamente genial de este fandom es toda la historia que tiene... lleva décadas funcionando y es el único, además de HP, que me ha atrapado en exclusiva.

Personalmente, solo leo fanfiction de TOS, pero la serie de DS9 es excelente... lo mismo que TNG y VOY ¡yo no tengo preferida!. Cada una de las series tiene su encanto, realmente.

De momento (y de hecho desde la última peli) que si he de leer algo va a ser TOS/reboot, basicamente porque soy K/S a muerte. Y mira que el McCoy de la peli está tremendo, pero para mi K/S son un pack.

DS9 no la he visto, ya lo haré! Pero primero me quiero volver a ver TOS y TNG para refrescar la memoria.

Largo no, inmenso... y por una vez yo mas feliz qu un regaliz!! Ya sabes como soy yo con los fics, que me gusta leerlos de una sentada, aunque esta vez creo que va a ser de una semana o algo asi (y de un pairing que no shippeo, go figure)

Me lo he leído ya. Y ahora me lo releeré con calma porque como todo libro que me engancha lo he deborado y ni me he fijado en el cómo está escrito ni en la forma... aunque oh my! Hay ciertos capítulos en el último cuarto de libro que aún me hacen contener la respiración por unos segundos.

¡Me he enamorado! Y encima mirándome comentarios y así vi que a tmelange le había encantado y esa tía es como DIOS en el DC-batman-superman fandom. Uuufff... que hiperventilo de nuevo!

Lo malo de que escribas de ST es que seguro que harás Kirk/Bones y ya sabes que yo soy más de K/S, a Bones lo veo muy hetero, muy de tener una brotherly relación con Jim. Pero bueno, gustos hay muchos. No es la primera vez que compartiendo fandom tampoco coincidimos 100% en ship ;)
